Now, what do I think of the games as a whole? They're pretty good, especially Sonic CD, the Sonic Adventure duology, Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Now, there have been clunkers in the past (I'm looking at you, Sonic Labyrinth and Sonic Riders), for the most part, they're not bad games.
If one needs a good jumping-on point for the series, I'd recommend Sonic Colors for that, since it doesn't require knowledge of previous games to enjoy them.
