Archie's Mega Man comics weren't the only Mega Man comics. These are the Mega Man comic books from Dreamwave Productions, who you may know for having the Transformers license once upon a time before it went to IDW (and/or other things that I'll barely touch here). The series lasted four issues and one paperback release (which I have) before it got the axe, ending with a "To be continued in Mega Man X." The Mega Man X comic never materialized under Dreamwave, sadly. As for the series itself? It's alright, not as good as the Archie comics we have now, but not bad. It had some decent artwork, a decent story, and the characters weren't bad, either. However, it ended before it could find its voice, so it's sad to note how good these comics could have been. It was more due to Dreamwave going under than any fault of the comic's own. They went under due to some...very shady (and bad) business decisions. This article on the Transformers Wiki puts it all in greater detail, if you're curious. Anyways, did anyone here read the series? What did you think of it?
